Letters to the Tooth Fairy
I have two sons whose personalities are as different as the seasons. The younger at age fourteen, is tow-haired, blue-eyed, sensitive, free-spirited, emotional, empathetic and kind. The elder, at sixteen, is dark in coloring, taciturn, responsible, diplomatic, witty and charming. The younger enjoys exotic and spicy cuisine – the elder prefers a more conventional menu. I can’t think of anything IContinue reading “Letters to the Tooth Fairy”
Weekly Word Challenge,”Spare” The Lonely Sweater
Spare (Defined) “Not currently in use; in reserve” Glancing in the window of a recently closed children’s consignment shop, I spotted this tiny, orange sweater hanging forlornly in the now abandoned store front. I pondered why this one vibrant item adorned with teddy bears, remained. Perhaps a testament to a dream that was not toContinue reading “Weekly Word Challenge,”Spare” The Lonely Sweater”

Summertime in Sepia
I love this dreamy throwback photograph, taken on the outer banks of North Carolina circa 1960. My beautiful mother in law Mary (on the right), adored this summer refuge where her parents owned a home. She is pictured here with her best friend Dottie. When I look at their carefree expressions I can almost feel the warm breeze andContinue reading “Summertime in Sepia”

Nothing that is can pause or stay; The moon will wax, the moon will wane, The mist and cloud will turn to rain, The rain to mist and cloud again, Tomorrow be today. ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow . https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_photo_challenge/change-2015/
A picture paints a thousand words
I discovered this image taken over fifteen years ago in a small town on the Amalfi Coast, while going through a shoebox filled with old photos. As I strolled past a beautiful old church I was struck by these four men sitting together on a Sunday afternoon, the middle two deep in conversation, the bookends, content in their own thoughts. EachContinue reading “A picture paints a thousand words”
