Into the Woods

I am an ex New Yorker who still misses the vibrancy of the city. I seek out the humor in every day life and relay it through my stories in the hope others will appreciate as well. I love to write about growing up with my fantastically unique Irish mother whose memory inspires me every day. Although she is no longer with us, her antics are an endless staple for my tales. I currently live in Connecticut with my husband, two sons and toy fox terrier Anabel.

    1. I think it is such a beautiful quote as well. This photo is taken at a very unique location I found when visiting county Mayo Ireland. A place called Moore Hall that still stands in ruin. Look it up for history. On the day we visited not a soul in site and I snapped this pic from the inside of the dilapidated but once grand home. It leads into the very inviting woods surrounding property. A very special memory for me and I hope to return. I may have a pic of Moore Hall somewhere on my blog I will share with you…If you ever get to Ireland you must visit…

      1. I googled Moore Hall, and it has a fascinating history. It’s quite some ruin.! It must be a wonderful place to visit and especially with it having such a lovely view as posted by you. I’d love to see it, but I doubt I’ll ever get to Ireland. I live in Essex, UK and as a wheelchair user, that’s probably too much of a hike for me. My limit has been London (when my dear Mum was alive) and Southend-on Sea for a week’s holiday a few years ago. I wrote two posts about that interesting trip. They were called ‘Sunnier Climes – Part One and Part Two – the Pier.’ I had a wonderful time there! I’d love to go again, but the expense is more than I can afford these days. Plus, I’ve got a 2-year-old cat and wouldn’t like to leave her. The sacrifices us pet owners make!
